Come one, come all! Join us for a soirée to remember – all in the name of the excellent cause that is LCB!
What are you talking about?
On 25th November, we’ll be hosting BANGING BOTTLES – our first charity wine tasting, guided by our in-house wine expert and vinous heavyweight, Sophie Thorpe. Settle in with a glass of top-notch fizz, before learning about six different wines – chosen to pack the perfect punch. Come armed with any burning questions and abuse her knowledge. You’ll find an array of snacks to ensure you don’t go hungry, and every mouthful and morsel consumed will be funding the amazing community outreach of London Community Boxing. What’s not to like?

6pm on Saturday 25th November
Where?
Just down the road from our place under the arches, at 139Fika, at 139 Bellenden Road, which is set to open later this month.
How much is a ticket?
£50 per person, with all proceeds funding LCB’s community outreach

Who is this “vinous heavyweight”, Sophie Thorpe?
You may have seen Sophie around the gym, as she’s one of our amateur boxers. But while she spends many of her evenings at LCB, by day she’s writing about wine. She’s been studying and working in wine for over a decade, having got hooked at university. She works in-house for a fine wine merchant and does some freelance writing too. She’s the only one of our boxers to be quite as analytical about the values of different electrolyte tablet or protein bar flavours, her palate honed by days spent tasting barrel samples in Burgundy or Bordeaux. Ironically, she loves a liver shot.
How do I book?
On the website: Click on “Book a class” at the top of our site or here, and you’ll be taken through to the calendar. Click into the 25th November, and you’ll see an event for 6pm listed as “LCB wine tasting fundraiser”. Click “Book” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Via the app: Go to “Buy” tab on the bottom of your screen, where you’ll see an option listed as “Charity Wine tasting 25 Nov”. Click on this and check out as normal. You can then go back to the “Book” tab, and you’ll find “LCB wine tasting fundraiser” under the Events tab on 25th November, and you’ll then be able to book into the event. NB you can’t book into the event until you have bought the ticket via the “Buy” tab.
In the gym: Drop by reception and a member of the team will be able to book tickets for you there and then.
